Online forums are integral to Bitcoin’s origin story, where Satoshi Nakamoto and early contributors worked together to discuss and create a disruptive financial system from the ground up. His one of the oldest Bitcoin forums, bitcointalk.org, still preserves historical discussions about the creation of the Bitcoin (BTC) logo and payment system.
Recently, a curious member of the bitcointalk.org forum sought To identify Bitcoin miners from the early days. Surprisingly, an anonymous member shared a signature that dates back to January 2009, just one week after Bitcoin was born.

“Could it be that the OP is inviting Satoshi?” Asked Another member after confirming the legitimacy of the “oldest signature” ever discovered. Adding to the mystery, the signature was posted under the pseudonym OneSignature on November 26, 2022 by a newly created account.

OneSignature’s account history shows no other involvement in the forum, confirming that the intent in its creation was only to show off the oldest signed message. A closer look at the username reveals a protected Twitter account created in October 2009.

Cointelegraph has confirmed that the address used by the mysterious poster has no balance. The revelation of signatures dating back to Bitcoin’s earliest days confirms that those involved in building Bitcoin’s legacy keep an eye on the ecosystem while occasionally piqued the curiosity of the general public.
