Cryptocurrency exchange OKX witnessed a service disruption after major infrastructure provider Alibaba Cloud announced a hardware failure at Alibaba Cloud’s Hong Kong data center.
The Alibaba Cloud Hong Kong IDC Zone C server went offline around 10pm ET on Saturday and has not been recovered for over 7 hours at the time of the report.More on-chain data Confirm That OKX did not process the transaction during this timeline.

Alibaba Cloud’s website shows that its Hong Kong (China) server hosts three Availability Zones and has been in operation since 2014. Confirmed Suspension by official announcement, as shown below.

While announcing the service interruption, OKX also revealed that it is working with Alibaba Cloud to resolve the issue. “Funds are safe. We apologize for the inconvenience,” added the announcement.

During that time, users cannot withdraw or deposit funds, but some claim that their account balance is incorrectly showing $0 in their funds. and expresses concern about the potential loss.
OKX has not yet responded to Cointelegraphs request for comment.

As reported by Cointelegraph, the partnership aims to develop new tools for launching validation nodes on Avalanche’s public blockchain platform in Asia. The integration will allow Avalanche developers to use his Alibaba Cloud plug-and-play infrastructure as a service to launch new validators.
During the launch, it was revealed that Avalanche hosts over 1,200 validators and processes around 2 million transactions daily.
