Mystic Galacticis a new North Carolina-based company that offers bourbon lovers the opportunity to own a space-aged whiskey. Unlike typical whiskeys that are loaded into barrels before aging in warehouses, this bourbon ages in space. It’s an exciting proposition for bourbon aficionados, and one can only wonder what it’s going to taste like given the impact the climate has on the drink.
Its ingredients include high wheat mash mixed with local grains and water. According to the company, the whiskey will be aged for at least three years on Earth before being put in barrels and sent into space for an additional year.
However, the company is just getting started, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to get a taste of this drink. The goal is to produce 1,000 to 1,500 bottles, and you can pre-order by visiting the official website.
Once paid, you will receive an NFT certificate proving the ownership and authenticity of your bottle. NFTs can then be redeemed for the final product, her 750ml bottle of Mystic Galactic whiskey packed in a flight case bearing the NFT code. You also receive his 50ml sample of bourbon. You can choose to take this sample and save the bottle for later use. Also included is a special tool to open a special bottle, two commemorative tasting glasses and one of the kegs from outer space.
That being said, there are apps you can download to your phone to track your bottle as it orbits the earth. Additionally, owners can attend the launch and recovery celebrations. These bottles don’t come cheap, though, so be prepared to part with $75,000 for the chance to own one of these exclusive collectibles.
