An announcement at the event explained that the work began with the idea of an empty canvas and all the possibilities that came with it.
“An empty canvas, whether in analog form or an empty digital space that needs to be filled with voxels, is both an invitation and a challenge, a three-dimensional version of the pixel,” he said.
As part of Markus Reindl’s final-year art course in virtual spaces, students turned a blank canvas into a diverse collection of works that explore themes of identity and virtual worlds. Featuring works by artists such as Anastasia Voloshina, Marcin Ratajczyk and Maria Tikhomirova, the work will be exhibited in voxels for all to see.
