In August 2020, an anonymous individual (or group) named “Ryoshi” Shiba Inu ($SHIB) A decentralized cryptocurrency that exploded exponentially in the first few months.
SHIB has acquired a whole community of supporters called the SHIB Army who promote the coin on social media, primarily Twitter, a microblogging platform. SHIB’s exponential growth has spread across the cryptocurrency community and mainstream media.
But what do we know about the founders? SHIB is wildly popular, but Shiba Inu creator Ryoshi seems to be following in the footsteps of Bitcoin’s Satoshi Nakamoto.
Founder of SHIB disappears from the crypto world
Initially, SHIB masqueraded as a leading memecoin to rival Elon Musk’s beloved Dogecoin ($DOGE), surpassing DOGE by becoming the most popular dog-themed coin for retailers in 2021.
Let me explain some circumstances first: Ryoshi has been silent through most of 2021. The only sign of activity was when Ryoshi deleted all of his tweets and was spotted on May 30th. twitter bioThis leaves room for speculation. Did he delete his social media presence or was his account hacked?
The first option seems to be a better fit, as a now-deleted Medium blog post alluded to Ryoshi disappearing. He then encouraged SHIB developers to continue working on his SHIB ecosystem.
Ryoshi’s disappearance came in line with the widespread downturn in the cryptocurrency market in June 2022. After the announcement, SHIB took a hit as he fell 5%, igniting an 80% price drop from its all-time high in October 2021.
Rumors and theories abound in the crypto community about Ryoshi’s possible identity and what his actions might mean. I have written May 30th Medium post to honor the anonymous founder and clarify the rumors faced by the SHIB community after his departure.
It is worth noting that Ryoshi was not involved in the SHB project for at least a year. As such, much of the input and direction of the ecosystem was due to the developers and the community at large continuing Ryoshi’s vision, Kusama said.
As we grow these components and set up the platform for the larger ShibArmy, we will realize Ryoshi’s vision and plans for this grand experiment. FUD is just that. We will continue to grow well into the future, following the path laid by our founder.
What’s next for SHIB?
Ryoshi’s departure does not mean that the SHIB developers and community will stop running the project. His two popular integrations in the SHIB ecosystem are Shibarium and SHIB: The Metaverse.
Shibarium Layer 2 Solution for SHIB
Shibarium is a Layer 2 (L2) (blockchain built on Ethereum) originally proposed by Ryoshi. Like many other L2s, the aim is to migrate SHIB tokens to L2 for greater scalability and lower gas prices.
SHIB: Metaverse
One of the hottest projects within the SHIB community is the SHIB Metaverse.

According to its founders, the SHIB Metaverse is built on Sibarium and includes 100,595 parcels of land released in phases. In the first phase, 32,124 parcels of land will be available for casting. Prices range from 0.2 ETH to 1 ETH.
Users must discover some hidden lands across the digital landscape and use them to create new opportunities in the ecosystem. Land plots within the Metaverse fall into his four categories: Silver Fir, Gold Tail, Platinum Paw, and Diamond Teeth.
You can also collect in-game Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), earn rewards, and perform other activities such as studying or working. According to Kusama’s tweet, the SHIB Metaverse will integrate gaming industry luminary David Kern, who has contributed to multiple of his AAA game titles as a graphic designer, producer and 3D animator.
