Astar Network has partnered with legendary artist Yoshitaka Amano to create and release an exclusive NFT collection on the blockchain.
Astar Network, a multi-chain smart contract platform, announced Thursday, September 29th that it will partner with legendary artist Yoshitaka Amano to create and release an exclusive NFT collection on the Astar blockchain.
According to a press release shared with Coinjournal, Astar Network said this is the first time Amano is bringing his art to the blockchain. Launching his NFT collection allows his art to interact with his Astar projects and community.
Yoshitaka Amano is a popular Japanese artist known for iconic artwork such as Speedracer, Sandman: The Dream Hunters cover art, and especially Final Fantasy.
Commenting on this latest development, Astar Network Founder and CEO Sota Watanabe said:
Without a doubt, Yoshitaka Amano is a legendary artist of the 21st century. We are very honored to work with him and host his first NFT on Astar Network.
Astar Network said this latest development is also the beginning of a partnership with Twin Planets.
Through this partnership, the two entities will work together to help art professionals create digital assets and publish their work on a trusted and secure network.
Twin Planet is a talent management company with popular artists such as Yoshitaka Amano.
Artist Yoshitaka Amano commented:
“It’s a bonus when people see my work and appreciate it. It makes me want to draw even more. It’s been that way since I was a kid and still is.”
Astar Network said it would be responsible for managing Yoshitaka Amano’s Candy Girl artwork, a sensational collection featuring 108 angels.
Candy Girl will lead the way in enabling Japanese content creators to own their art, music and stories while engaging with audiences and businesses around the world, the team added.
The creation of this limited NFT edition on Astar Network is important to Astar’s vision of bringing the East and the West together while introducing art to blockchain technology.
