Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dashjr has questioned the safety of Bitcoin’s existing storage solution after depleting more than $4 million in coins from his personal wallet last month.
The programmer suggested that his practices for storing coins were far beyond “standard practice”, but he still succeeded in the robbery.
On Monday, Dashjr responded to fellow Bitcoin enthusiasts on Twitter. He asked if one day he woke up with $30 million in his bank account, how would other people spend their money?

“Standard practice is clearly not safe,” he said. “My security went well beyond standard practice, but it was still compromised.”
