The price of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) related cryptocurrency ApeCoin (APE) has plunged as Gucci announced that it now accepts APE as payment for purchases in its stores.
gucci is addition APE added it to its roster of supported digital coins after deciding to accept cryptocurrency payments as it entered the digital asset space in May.
The company initially announced support for 12 digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB).

ApeCoin rose following Gucci announcement. At the time of writing, the crypto asset is trading at $7.59, up 9.75% in the last 24 hours.
The news comes after ApeCoin’s Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) voted to fund The Bored Ape Gazette, a BAYC-focused 24-hour news publication.
