Astar Network introduces its all-in-one tool for WASM smart contract developers

  • WASM smart contract developers can now take advantage of Astar Network’s Swanky tool.

  • All-in-one tools include Swanky CLI and Swanky Node.

  • Astar Network supports both Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and WebAssembly (WASM) smart contract environments.

Astar Network Launches Swanky

Astar Network, a multi-chain smart contract platform, has announced the launch of Swanky, an all-in-one tool that provides developers with everything they need to easily build WebAssembly (WASM) smart contracts.

Maarten Henskens, Head of Ecosystem Development at Astar Network and Sasa Pul, Swanky Product Lead, announced: latest cryptocurrency news At the Sub0 Polkadot Developer Conference in Lisbon today.

The company’s Swanky combines the various tools of the WASM ecosystem into one interface. Astar Network added that the tool will help developers build the next generation of smart contracts.

Aster Network describes its all-in-one toolkit as having two parts.

  • Swanky CLI, a tool for creating and compiling smart contracts. This tool can also be used to set up and run integration tests and handle account management. The software gives developers access to a wide range of project templates, including smart contracts and front-end dApp code.

  • The second part is the Swanky Node. A node is a simple Substrate-based blockchain that enables pallet contracts. Also, instant seals are enabled, so there is no wait for blocking time. Swanky Node is extremely flexible and can be configured to run in different states, access a palette of Substrate-based dApp development, and more.

Astar Network supports EVM and WASM

The team noted that Astar Network supports both Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and WebAssembly (WASM) smart contract environments. Using two virtual machines simultaneously and making them interactive is a key ingredient for new layer 1 blockchains.

Commenting on this latest development, Maarten Henskens, Head of Ecosystem Development at Astar Network said:

“Using and building WASM smart contracts is still in a very early stage, so the tools and documentation are essential for bootstrapping the activities of WASM developers. It’s very easy for people to start exploring this new environment.”

Aster Network explained that WASM is closer to machine language, which improves performance. The team revealed that WASM’s development is already supported by leading companies such as his Google, Microsoft and Mozilla.

The Swanky toolkit allows developers to easily write, compile, deploy and test WASM smart contracts. Additionally, this tool will help grow the WASM smart contract developer community and accelerate the pace of innovation in the Web3 ecosystem.

This latest development comes a few weeks after the city of Fukuoka, Japan’s second largest port city. Announced strategic partnership Work on local Web3 use cases in collaboration with Astar Japan Lab

Astar Network is the main parachain of the Polkadot network. This network supports building dApps using EVM and WASM smart contracts, providing true interoperability for developers.
