Dapper Labs, the company behind the blockchain-based game CryptoKitties and the layer-1 digital ledger Flow (FLOW) network, has announced restrictions on accounts linked to Russia.
dapper lab To tell Following the European Union’s (EU) imposition of new sanctions against Russia and Russian citizens last week, we are suspending affected accounts as “Payment Processing and Store Value Service Partners” are subject to sanctions.
According to the company, the new EU sanctions will prohibit cryptocurrency industry players from offering cryptocurrency wallets, accounts or custody services of any value to accounts connected to Russia, regardless of the wallet value. I’m here.
According to Dapper Labs, Russia-linked accounts are currently suspended from buying, selling, or giving gifts purchased from the blockchain company’s sports-related non-fungible token (NFT) content. Dapper Labs has also suspended Russia-linked accounts from withdrawing from the platform or making purchases using platform balances.
Russia’s annexation of four Ukrainian territories following what the EU calls a “fake” referendum has resulted in a new round of sanctions banning crypto payments of any amount outright. Previous sanctions allowed crypto payments up to 10,000.
The new EU sanctions come in line with reports that Russia’s top financial authorities are said to have reached an agreement to legalize the use of crypto assets in cross-border transactions.
