In response to a CryptoSlate article published on Oct. 6, Decentraland disputed claims that its virtual world platform is a ghost town.
DappRadar data is questionable
The claim was made based on DappRadar data and tweeted by Cyber Samurai CEO. @0x_shakewho posted that DecentralandHas 30 daily active users (DAU)He further commented that the low number of DAUs is inconsistent with the $1.2 billion market cap of the project.
Please note that the DAU per DappRadar data refers to the number of daily users interacting with smart contracts on the platform and may be less than the actual number of active daily users.
DappRadar has suspended the Decentraland data page since the original article was published.
CryptoSlate has reached out to DappRadar for comment on the data collection process. However, there was no reply by the time of publication.
This figure shows that since July 8, the median of roughly 600 users per day interacting with smart contracts in Decentraland is significantly higher than the data per DappRadar, but still relatively low. It was cross-referenced with a secondary source that indicated .

Decentraland prefers active users as an indicator of activity
A representative from Decentraland reached out to CryptoSlate and said that a more representative number for measuring platform activity is the number of unique visitors rather than the number interacting with smart contracts.
Providing another data source at dcl-metrics.com, the rep added that the number of unique visitors has repeatedly exceeded 10,000 in recent weeks. Note that this metric includes with and without a wallet.
The chart below shows that five times in the last three months we have exceeded 10,000 unique users. There were 7,871 unique visitors on October 6, with a daily average of 8,590.
Similarly, the average number of parcels visited each day over the past three months was 5,651. Parcels are parcels of land in the Decentraland virtual world.
Unlike unique visitors, parcels visited show an upward trend with roughly a series of lows over the past three months, suggesting visitors are exploring over time. .
