Malaysian comic and graphic book publisher KADOKAWA GEMPAK has launched GIRYPTO, web5’s open source intellectual property. A combination of web2 and web3, web5 serves as an entry into the company’s metaverse, Gilipto This is the first project in that line.
KADOKAWA GEMPAK has been acclaimed for its comics, novels and magazines for over 70 years and is now looking to expand its roster. This expansion creates webtoons, electronic publications, animations, games, and other digital and multimedia content. The new web5 project also marks the beginning of a new era for the company.
This is a milestone not only for KADOKAWA GEMPAK, but also for the comics industry, as it is the first ever open source IP. GIRYPTO’S materials are now available for anyone to use, in any medium and in any manner, as long as attribution is provided. It is protected by CC BY-SA 4.0 License Agreement.
This is just the tip of the iceberg as KADOKAWA GEMPAK plans to launch the GIRYPTO Fables NFT series. November 11, 2022 at 11:00 PM (GMT+8), featuring characters from the GIRYPTO universe. Only 3,000 NFTs in total are available, but they are completely free to create.
Whoever manages to get them has an upcoming mint pass GIRYPTO Epics NFT Series It is scheduled to launch on December 12, 2022. Epics NFTs are even rarer than the Fables series, with only 999 NFTs available.
Fans are also looking forward to future collaborations between Japan’s KADOKAWA CORPORATION and its armed artists in Taiwan, China and Thailand.
