Although the current version of the Metaverse primarily fosters social interaction, media can also have a greater impact on society. Kataribacreated a metaverse-based educational platform to make learning more accessible.
How Katariba Works
While many children meet their educational needs within the walls of school, some children are either homeschooled by their parents or unable to attend school due to emotional problems. , is where Katariba appears in a new resource called Room-K.
Room-K gives students access to a virtual learning ecosystem, with 110 elementary and middle school students enrolled so far. When students sign up for the platform, they can choose the subjects and hours they want to study. Afterwards, 45-minute lessons allow you to learn at your own pace and offer a less rigorous structure than ‘traditional’ schools.
Ultimately, the program found that 10% of these students would eventually return to traditional schools, and the charity aims to go even further. Our goal is to create a place where children can learn.
Given the upcoming policies from Japan’s new government Children’s and Families Agency, this goal could well be realized.
