of Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) has launched the ‘DIFC Metaverse Platform’ to attract technology innovators from around the world, in line with the objectives of Dubai’s High Commission on Future Technologies and the Digital Economy.
The metaverse platform is Dubai Metaverse Strategyaims to add $4 billion to Dubai’s GDP. The strategy also plans to support 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030 and attract his 1,000+ companies specializing in metaverse technology.
The DIFC Metaverse Platform also supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). D33 aims to generate AED 100 billion worth of economic value annually from digital transformation, doubling the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade.
The platform will be part of a comprehensive strategy being developed by DIFC, a financial center serving the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA). Ultimately, it aims to accelerate Dubai’s position as the leader of the global metaverse.
New Metaverse Accelerator Program
The new platform includes three main initiatives. These include accelerator programs. Engage in the development and legislation of Metaverse policies and promote the development of the Metaverse community.
The Metaverse Accelerator Program includes a physical studio dedicated to Metaverse technology. The program will begin accepting applications in February 2022. The program aims to collect more than 500 applications over the next few years.
