Shiba Inu-related altcoin pairs are surging as developers prepare to launch a long-awaited Layer 2 network called Sibarium.
The new network is designed similarly to Polygon (MATIC), providing developers with a fast and scalable platform while allowing traders access to new projects and custom tokens with low transaction fees.
As developers work on Sibarium, the two Ethereum-based altcoins that are already part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem are witnessing some major price volatility.
The first altcoin, Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), will be used as a governance token to pay for gas on the network.
BONE jumped from its February 14 low of $1.27 to its current price of $1.62, up 27%.
Meanwhile, Doge Killer (leash) surged from its Valentine’s Day low of $379 to $652, a whopping 69% increase.
This crypto asset was originally designed to be utilized as a way to reward loyal members of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem.
However, after its May 2021 release, LEASH’s future usefulness is becoming more and more of a mystery.
As for when Shibarium will launch, the developer has yet to confirm an official release date.
In a recent reply on Twitter, pseudonym developer Shytoshi Kusama said: alluded to A beta version may be released next week.
he also has promised It will arrive much sooner than its rumored May debut.
