Affyn is a Singapore-based company active in the blockchain gaming space. The goal is to leverage the play-and-earn model so that rewards earned in the virtual world are available in the real world.
The NEXUS World metaverse is part of that goal. It utilizes mobile geolocation services to map metaverse cities directly into the real world.
Affyn announced that Singapore will be the first city in the world. His 2,000 lots of Freehold Land NFTs are featured. These NFTs correspond to real-world locations in Singapore.
The NFT is hexagonal and covers approximately 15,000 square meters. They are also subdivided into rarity levels (Common, Rare, Epic, Mythical). NFTs are further differentiated by their unique features. This includes attributes such as grass, rocks, sand, snow, and climate combinations.
As is often the case with Metaverse games, higher tier users have access to more perks. One of these benefits is that they are more likely to produce what are known as ‘sidekicks’, inherently rarer collectibles. Landowners also have access to invite-only events and promotions.
After developing the land, the landlord has further options. You can rent out pieces of your virtual real estate to other players, host events, build your business, and do a variety of other activities to generate income.
On December 17th at 12:00 UTC, users who have purchased Flags will be able to claim parcels of land within Metaverse City, Singapore.
The launch of Singapore as the first Metaverse city is a significant milestone for Affyn and demonstrates our continued commitment to our product development roadmap, said Founder and CEO Lucaz Lee. .
We are very excited to have NEXUS World Landowners experience the realization of the Metaverse and participate in co-creating and driving the economy. These promising developments and more cities arriving in the coming months will be an invaluable catalyst for the ongoing adoption of Web3 games.”
Of course, adoption within Web3 has plummeted over the past year. Interest in play-to-earn games has waned, given that the price of real-life rewards has dropped significantly as the market as a whole has fallen.
But Affin is determined to move forward.
