Good news for Web3-savvy basketball fans. raid, an NFT-based fantasy sports and strategy game, has announced the launch of Season 0. This allows players to form virtual teams called swoopsters to compete on virtual basketball courts and potentially win big rewards.
The start of Season Zero was confirmed on Swoops’ Twitter account. To play, the user must have her MetaMask wallet and install the game’s browser extension.

How Swoops works is that users can create teams by choosing from a pool with infinite combinations of physical and skill-based attributes. No two of his basketball players created are the same. This means that every team is unique. After this, users can pitch their team to other teams and the game is played using Swoops simulator technology to pick a winner.
The stakes are very real in Swoops, as players have to pay an ante to participate and whoever wins Season 0 wins a contributing pot. The start of the season will come after Swoops has hosted both a presale and a public mint, after which the players are revealed.
Later this year, the game will transition to Season 1, which includes expansions.
