T-Mobile is working with Helium (HNT) founder Nova Labs to help launch a new 5G mobile service that will enable users to earn cryptocurrency.
Nova Labs and T-Mobile signed The decentralized wireless telecommunications company has launched Helium Mobile, signing a multi-year deal as it plans to expand its service on the Helium 5G network built on blockchain technology.
Under this agreement, Helium Mobile subscribers will have access to both the Helium Network and the T-Mobile 5G network.
Amir Haleem, CEO of Nova Labs and founder of Helium, said:
Nova Labs is committed to building a decentralized network. A new deal with T-Mobile will give subscribers nationwide 5G coverage, enabling mobile products and services that use both networks. By enabling the community to help build and use the Helium network, 5G infrastructure will become accessible to everyone at a much faster pace, especially in hard-to-reach locations. “
Dan Thygesen, senior vice president of T-Mobile Wholesale, said Helium Mobile is making progress in the nascent telecommunications industry.
T-Mobile is excited to support Nova Labs innovation in this new crypto space by enabling mobility on the nation’s largest, fastest and most reliable national 5G network.
Helium’s mobile service will launch early next year with nationwide coverage in the United States. Subscribers earn her MOBILE tokens as a reward for sharing data related to signal strength quality and dead spot locations, and have the option to save money on cellular plans.
The Helium network was launched in 2019 to support the Internet of Things (IoT). According to the company, he has over 900,000 hotspots around the world. Nearly 900 US cities have over 2,500 Helium hotspots with 5G service.
