CryptoSlate chatted with Maria from women of the cosmos, a hand-drawn NFT collection led by a female artist. In chat, Maria said:
Please tell us about your background. When and why did you become a digital artist/illustrator?
I started my career as a digital illustrator professionally a few years ago. I’ve been drawing since I can remember. In fact, I was a really creative kid. From making clothes for dolls and notebooks and supplies to painting thousands of drawings, I was always creative. However, I never studied art or anything related to it. In fact, I worked in the events industry as a project manager, with clients such as Samsung and Este Lauder, until I decided to change my ways. .
I used to work with people who knew I was painting, but it wasn’t until Covid arrived and really hit my industry that I decided to follow my passion. Did. That is, to create I started working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, and entered the NFT world at the end of 2021.
How would you describe your work and what art or artists influenced your work?
My work is soft and dreamy, portraying strong empowered women as protagonists.
Maybe I’m influenced by all the anime I watched and drew when I was a kid.
Women and natural beauty have always inspired me. And of course, by my own life experience. I tried to create works that allow people to accept themselves.
I love Michelangelo; he My favorite artist; however, when it comes to my NFTs, I deny that it was my own emotions and memories, my love of nature, and my fellow NFT artists that inspired me every day. you can’t.
It inspires me every time I go on Twitter and see my timeline full of amazing creations by people from all over the world. It’s crazy how much talent you have! Featuring Habiba Green, Tito Merello, Chris Ariel, Tifatron and many more.
How did you become interested in web3 and NFTs?
I discovered NFTs thanks to my partners who work as investors, cryptocurrency advisors and traders. Initially, he entered the world of NFTs as a collector/investor. However, after a few months, I realized that many of his 1/1 artists were on this amazing path, and decided to dive into my own work.
How do you think web3 and NFTs will benefit humanity, and more specifically artists and creators?
Some of the main benefits of actually owning the work and giving you the opportunity to demonstrate its authenticity, such as in terms of who created it. I think NFT gives us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves. We can really experiment and create without limits. This time, we are the owners of the work and do not have to follow briefings or client requests. We can be truly free and that’s great.
On the one hand, NFT helps artists and creators make a living from their art. Without middlemen or agents, many artists have found a way to bring the right amount of money home. I have exhibited my work at art shows that I would have never dreamed of before entering this ‘world’, and have collaborated with artists and projects that I admire.
Why did you choose to build on Cosmos’ Stargaze network?
I’ve been an astronaut for quite some time when I heard about Stargaze, so it was a definite “next step” to follow.
Women From Cosmos came true when I applied as a Genesis Creator and was selected by the community.
I cannot be happy with this decision. The Cosmos community has helped me a lot and has given me a wonderful welcome that I never expected when I started.
Tell us about your web3 journey of building community and connecting with like-minded individuals in the industry.
I’m happy to say it was really organic from the start. personal account When women of the cosmosI am the only person behind both accounts and I always follow and interact with people in a natural way. Following new artists and projects I like, participating in conversations and Twitter spaces, sharing my work, and supporting other artists is my ‘way’ on Twitter. I think it should be.
We may collaborate with other projects on giveaways, etc., but we cannot build a community on that basis. Those followers will disappear at some point. You need to find someone who genuinely loves what you do and who shares your same values.
What will NFT adoption look like five years from now? To what extent will NFTs become part of our daily lives?
I think NFTs will be integrated into all kinds of businesses, from all branded projects to video games. Having an NFT representing an access key to some dedicated service is standardized and shared by many well-known brands and companies.
In addition, I think it will be a much improved version of how artists (big and small) can build their careers, an extended way of democratizing art. but it’s still early days.
Please tell us about your future plans with NFTs and web3.
Following the Women From Cosmos roadmap, I continue with the main goal of the project. We will continue to work to support other women’s projects, provide owners with all kinds of benefits, and expand our “universe” to other ecosystems and chains.
Women From Cosmos was the beginning of a long road to continue building and growing the community to make this project the 1/1 art referent for the Cosmos ecosystem. One of our goals is to help people start their web3 journey.
On the one hand, I want to create podcasts, run streaming videos, and have friendly conversations about industry news, interesting tricks to know, and personal experiences from other artists and projects. increase.
I hope to continue collaborating with other projects to contribute to the growth of the cosmos ecosystem, participate in international events, and generally empower and inspire other women to pursue their dreams.
