Apple Inc. announced the long-awaited augmented reality / virtual reality (AR / VR) headset “Apple Vision Pro” at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to be held on June 5. brought about a major change in the lineup of consumer electronics products.
Advertised as a “spatial computer” rather than just a headset, the device is a standalone computing device that includes a 3D camera and spatial audio to blur the lines between the real and the digital and We aim to revolutionize user interaction with experience.
Tim Cook touted the new headset by saying, “You’re no longer limited by the display.” Another executive at the presentation deemed it “the most advanced personal electronic gadget.”
The device features the company’s M2 chip and optics, manufactured in collaboration with Zeiss, and features a 4K-capable OLED display.
Apple Vision Pro uses machine learning and neural networks to capture and create 3D digital personas for interactions in conference calls and device “spatial experiences.” It runs on an operating system named Vision OS.
The electronics and software giant has also partnered with Disney to bring a special experience to this device.
The Apple Vision Pro will cost $3,499 and will be available in early 2024.
