European crypto giant Bitpanda acquired Bitpanda Custody, formerly known as Trustology, in a multi-million dollar transaction in February this year.
Establishing new payment standards
As Bosonic prepares to launch related services in late 2022, Bitpanda Custody will become a member of the industry’s flagship project, the Bosonic Cross Custodian Net Payment Working Group.
It establishes new payment standards for atomic swap netting and settlement across an international and institutionally coordinated autonomous custodian network.
This eliminates counterparty settlement and credit risk between these institutions. Rosario Ingaljora, CEO of Bosonic, commented:
There is a great demand for individual storage provided by regulated or qualified custodians, especially as the market for digital assets for institutional investors from the family office and buy-side world grows. Being able to protect client data and assets is very important and is the basis of fiduciary security for these clients. We are pleased that Bitpanda Custody has joined Bosonic and look forward to helping them serve institutional investors.
Alex Batlin, Managing Director of Bitpanda Custody, added:
Bitpanda Custody has partnered with Bosonic to help institutional investors reduce settlement risk and costs and improve capital efficiency at the end of the day. All of this is backed by an insured and regulated cryptocurrency custodian.
Bosonic is a leading dFMI company founded in 2016 with offices in San Francisco, New York and London. These companies provide the finest infrastructure to eliminate counterparty payments and credit risk in the digital asset market.
