Dating.com’s metaverse project in Decentraland is a first for the dating industry.
Love is in the air and finding love is in the metaverse!
Dating.com, a subsidiary of global social discovery company Dating Group, has launched its first-ever dating site on the Metaverse, according to an announcement confirmed by CoinJournal.
The company, which counts more than 30 online dating sites and has offices in seven countries, said the debut of the virtual reality dating space is a tribute to the innovation of its flagship platform.
“Beginning Friday, September 23, singles of all ages can visit Dating.com’s metaverse dating space to flirt, mingle, and make long-term connections‘, the company announced.
The Metaverse project could add Dating Group to over 73 million registered users on Dating.com and other sites such as Dil Mil, Cupid Media and DateMyAge.
Dating in Decentraland
Dating.com’s virtual love platform is designed with Decentraland, a leading metaverse platform that has its own infrastructure set up to create love atmospheres.
“We are proud to be the first dating site to open up the world of virtual dating. We look forward to Dating.com users continuing to make global connections in this new space.KJ Dhaliwal, Chief Strategy Officer at Dating Group, said:
As well as interactive activities for singles, the gifting feature is enabled so that couples can show their love by gifting NFTs.
Virtual reality platforms working with avatars are more likely to influence people with biases (basically “materialistic, superficial factors or judgments” that they may sometimes experience in the physical world). It has the potential to resonate greatly with people because it allows them to explore and nurture connections without being alone. The real world is deleted.
This allows you to build relationships based on things like personality and shared values. There’s no nagging fear that you’re wasting your time or money, as is often the case with in-person dating.
Metaverse “Wedding of the Year”
The launch of the dating site this Friday will include a “wedding of the year” involving three real-world couples, according to Wednesday’s announcement.
To celebrate the pioneering move, Dating.com is planning an epic blockchain marriage, where couples who meet for the first time on the site will marry in a virtual wedding. The newlywed gets her NFT certificate as proof of marriage. This is also attested by family, friends and officials.
According to Dating.com, website Those who want to win a wedding in the Metaverse can submit their applications until September 22nd.
