New York-based paytech company Payoneer has hired Assaf Ronen as its first Chief Platform Officer, effective immediately.

Payoneer Appoints New Chief Platform Officer
In his new role, Ronen will lead Payoneer’s newly created platform division, bringing together the company’s technology, product and high-value services divisions into one integrated team.
Ronen joined Payoneer from SoFi, where he served as Chief Product Officer, leading the company’s product, technology, engineering and design teams. Prior to that, he founded and served as vice president of Amazon’s Alexa Shopping Group, and previously served as vice president of Amazon’s payments business. He also has his 7 years working experience at Microsoft.
The new hires follow Payoneer’s appointment of John Caplan as co-CEO in May.
Founded in 2005, Payoneer provides cross-border payments for businesses and entrepreneurs around the world. The company claims most of its customers operate in emerging markets.
Through its new platform division, Payoneer aims to expand its services including B2B AP/AR, working capital and merchant services. We also plan to enhance our account offerings and build new financial products over time.
