Reddit made news earlier this year when it offered free NFTs to its top users and started selling those suites. This was the platform’s first foray into the NFT space and was generally well received.
Now that NFT is in the news again. $5,000 each.
The two NFTs sold at this price are from The Senses collection.This collection was designed by reddit Use Rojom as part of the Collectible Avatars Creator Program.
NFTs from that collection, The Hands #16 and The Hands #46, Sold on OpenSea for 4 ETH each, the collection is very popular. When Reddit first announced its collectibles (the site apparently took the deliberate action of not calling them NFTs), there was some debate within the community about their merits and whether to embrace them.
But now, months later, NFTs are very popular, especially in the resale market. They all feature his Reddit mascot, his Snoo, in different outfits, themes and scenarios, bringing in a lot of money for their owners.
