If you’re a fan of cruises, you’ve definitely heard of Royal Caribbean, Inc. It is one of the world’s largest cruise ship operators. After sailing around the physical world, we finally embarked on a voyage to the Metaverse.
The company has reportedly confirmed a proprietary NFT-powered virtual experience called Wonderverse.
Dive into Wonderverse
By all indications, Wonderverse will offer Royal Caribbean customers as much fun in the virtual world as in the physical world. It features a metaverse version of the company’s ships that users can explore using avatars.
On board, customers can navigate four different areas and participate in mini-contests and activities. It mirrors the experience on a real cruise ship and can be enjoyed virtually.
Additionally, Royal Caribbean uses it as a way to pass information on to its customers. Essentially, it incorporates an in-metaverse billboard that displays information about upcoming voyages that you can sign up for. Needless to say, this is one of the most ambitious uses of the Metaverse by hospitality and travel companies to date.
Michael Shiner, Chief Marketing Officer for Celebrity Cruises, a brand operated by Royal Caribbean, said:
This comes months after the company had a successful NFT drop.
