Nike RTFKT COO Nikhil Gopalani Said On January 3, he revealed that he had lost all his NFTs to a “smart phisher” who hacked his wallet.
Gopalani tweeted that hackers stole all Clone X NFTs and other unnamed digital assets in a phishing attack. He added that the hacker had the same phone number as his Apple ID.
Etherscan data shows that the affected wallet is now worth $0.11.
According to additional information from OpenSea, the attackers exfiltrated Gopalani’s NFTs in two wallets. The attacker stole 19 CloneX, over 30 of his RTFKT-related NFTs, 17 Loot Pods, and 11 Crypto Kicks NFTs, making him worth over $170,000 in total.
Meanwhile, RTFKT CTO Samuel Cardillo suggested that a colleague may have provided sensitive information to the hackers.He also alluded to Law enforcement agencies may be investigating the incident.
Cardillo said:
“Please note that companies like Microsoft, Apple and others will never ask you for your passwords, private keys or any other form of personal information over the phone or via email.”
