
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried said in a Twitter thread on Dec. 9 that he intends to testify before the U.S. House Financial Services Committee on Dec. 13.

SBF said there were limits to what he could say and that it wouldn’t be as helpful as he’d hoped. .
The confused founder said the hearing could clarify:
- FTX US Solvency and American Customers
- Pathway to return value to users around the world
- What he thinks led to the crash and his failure.
SBF said:
I thought of myself as an exemplary CEO. I thought of myself as someone who wouldnt be lazy or isolated. I’m sorry, but hopefully people can learn from the difference between who I was and who I was.
The FTX founder was initially reluctant to honor the commission hearings because he didn’t have enough information about what happened to his crypto empire.
In response, MPs made it clear that they were prepared to issue a subpoena to the SBF if it did not gladly honor the invitation.
