Yuga Labs announces new Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) Community Council to help projects “grow and flourish”.
In a blog post on October 5th, the team revealed seven council members, noting that they are all OGs who have been active since the early days of BAYC.
Yuga Labs said it formed a new community council made up of “apes with a track record of being active and active in contributing to the club from the beginning.”
Members include @beijingdou, @SeraStargirl, @TheMiamiApe, @OxEthanDG, @OxWave, @negithenagi and @peterjfang.
“This council was established with the intention of representing the club as a whole and providing an avenue for new perspectives,” writes Yuga Labs.
Yuga Labs said it will engage with the community, collect feedback for the company, and work with Yuga on community-driven initiatives such as commercial projects, meetups, and philanthropy.

Yuga Labs also hinted that it may soon launch community councils for other NFT projects, including CryptoPunks, Meebits and The Otherside.

NFT venture fund giant Animoca Brands has made a strategic investment in blue chip NFT project Cool Cats, helping the project expand into new areas such as gaming.
October 5th publication According to the duo, “The partnership will advance Cool Cats’ mission to become the largest global NFT brand and a powerful media and content company, including through expansion of its gaming offerings.”
Cool Cats will be released in July 2021 and consists of 9,999 cartoon cat avatars. The project has generated his NFT sales volume worth $369.2 million to date, according to CryptoSlam data. The latest announcement also coincides with a 220% increase in Cool Cats sales volume in the last 24 hours.
The move also follows a partnership with GAMEE, an Animoca subsidiary, from September 1st. It’s a virtual platform focused on connecting creators, brands and players in the GameFi space.

Solana blockchain NFT sales volume tagged September’s $130.1 million increased 82.2% from August’s $71.4 million.
This number continues to be well behind Ethereum, which sold $354.3 million worth of NFTs last month, and Solana, but the gap in unique buyers between the two is much smaller.
According to CryptoSlam data, Solana NFT had 143,997 unique buyers in September (up from 95,516 in August) compared to Ethereum’s 166,168 (down from 202,467) for the month.
The numbers may indicate that Solana has a notable position on Ethereum, but Ethereum still hosts the majority of good NFT projects.
Looking at the data over the last 30 days, only one Solana NFT project ranks in the top 10 by sales volume, with sales volume worth $13.3 million for y00ts mint t00b, which ranked 10th. In contrast, 8 Ethereum-based projects ranked in the top 10 during that period.
Gary Vaynerchuck’s NFT project VeeFriends has signed exclusive deals with Macy’s and Toys R Us to sell collectible physical plush toys and figurines featuring VeeFriends NFT characters.
The collection will be available in stores starting October 17, priced from $9.99 to $29.99. Characters include a cow of common sense, a strong-willed wizard, a practical peacock, a grateful gorilla, a real giraffe, and becoming a bigger person.

Hodler who owns an NFT version of the character will receive the associated physical collectibles, and the more expensive plushies and 6-inch figures will be Season 1 for NFT holders.
However, Hodler doesn’t get kickbacks from physical toy sales.
Horizon Blockchain Games, developer of the popular NFT card game Skyweaver, has raised $40 million in Series A funding, the company announced Oct. 4. Two Interactive and Ubisoft and others.
NFT marketplace OpenSea announced in a series of tweets on October 5 that the platform will allow users to bulk list and bulk buy up to 30 digital collection items in a single flow.
